Ian is a driven and engaged transformational leader. He is passionate about developing and implementing meaningful business strategy and delivering performance. He is a principle based leader who thrives on developing people and building collaborative teams.

A Senior Executive with over 25 years of global experience and expertise in Automotive Financing, Ian was formerly the CEO of BMW Financial Services USA and Region America’s where he was responsible for the financial services business of BMW Group in North and South America including, the FDIC regulated BMW Bank of N.A. in Utah. A combined portfolio balance sheet responsibility of over $50bn along with a dedicated team of over 1,200 associates.

As a global leader, Ian has held CEO positions in Brazil, Canada and the UK. He spent time in BMW’s HQ in Munich where he was the Senior Executive responsible for the Financial Services Global Strategy, Marketing, Customer Engagement and Regulatory Compliance. During this time, Ian was a Board Supervisor of BMW’s Auto Finance Company in China.

Prior to his many years at BMW, Ian has worked for GE Capital in the UK and Canada.

Ian is a current Board Advisor for SpringFreeEV, a California based Financial Technology Company which is accelerating EV adoption in the SME fleet space and working with an early phase start up to develop Fleet as a Service for commercial electric vehicles. In 2022, Ian founded FinBoCX Inc. to support his consulting activities in Automotive and Business Leadership.

Ian is a past Fellow of the Institute of Directors (IoD) where he has a Certificate in Company Direction and a Post-Graduate Certificate from Edinburgh Business School, Herriot-Watt University.
